Gretchen Barretto returns to Maalaala Mo Kaya after 15 years. She will open the longest-running drama anthology the country when it moves to the Saturday primetime on July 19. Based on a real story that happened in Cebu, Gretchen is Margarita, the beautiful but poor woman who decided to do something about her poverty. Philip Salvador is the old town mayor and Tonton Gutierrez is her poor husband. Philip says we’ll see a different Gretchen, somebody who takes her craft seriously. As this interview will, she did everything to deliver a realistic performance including a theme she knows too well.

Nang mawala sa mesa si Rachel Anne, and in plain sight ng iba pang guests sa resto-bar, biglang lumapit si Gretchen kay Ricky at naglambing umano nang husto sa lalaki. Sabi ng source-witness: “She was touching his hands, his face.” Dagdag pa nito: “She was practically nibbling at his ears!”

Ayon pa rin sa source-witness, hinalikan ng isang “looking drunk” na Gretchen si Ricky, na gumanti din daw ng halik. Hindi nga lang daw agresibo ang paghalik ni Ricky sa partner ng kanyang bayaw, kung ibabase sa body language nito.

For the last couple of days, we have been hearing celebrity couples fighting, breaking-up and losing hope. BUT wait! It is different this week! and there can be only 2 reasons. It is either because they really did kiss and make-up or, because it is valentines week.

After Jennylyn Mercado’s no-show at the press conference of her latest movie Half Blood Samurai, allegedly caused by her boyfriend Patrick Garcia, rumors started to circulate that the couple have already ended their relationship.

Tabloid reports even claim that Patrick has been ignoring his girlfriend, who is more than two months pregnant with their first baby.

In an interview aired in the showbiz talk show yesterday, February 2, he defended himself. “Hindi ko naman matatalikuran yun, e. It’s very impossible na gawin ko yun. Nagkikita kami, magkasama kami palagi. I try to see her as much as possible, of course, to take care of her para sa magiging baby namin.”

The young actor also reasoned out that maybe Jennylyn is just being emotional, which is normal during pregnancy.

He explained, “Whatever she’s going through, emotionally ano lang… Of course, there are many changes…I just have to deal with the changes and attend to her needs. Kailangan ko yung… kasi when you’re pregnant, you know, you have some hormonal changes, mood swings.”

But Patrick did not put all the blame on her girlfriend’s pregnancy. He admitted that sometimes he fails in his responsibilities.

He said, “There are some things na hindi ko nagagawa for her. You know, I’m just human. I think it’s just blown out of proportion sa mga nababasa niya.”

She’s one woman who resents being ignored. And certainly that’s not what her longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuangco will ever do. He loves her too much.

“She never left Dasma. Never siya pinaalis ni Tonyboy and never siya aalis,” said Greta’s bosom friend. “Whatever she had with Dodie, I don’t know where it started. The important thing is after all is said and done, she’s with Tonyboy pa rin. In fact, they are celebrating their anniversary soon.”

Greta knows how to charm her way into Tonyboy’s heart after her foolish exploits and temporary thrills. As a director puts it, “What a comfort zone Greta has! I want to drink what she’s taking!”

Many more John Estradas and Dodie Punos may come in and out of Greta’s colorful life but Tonyboy Cojuangco will remain. If he always manages to forgive her, why can’t we?

Ah! Living La Vida Greta! She can have her cake and eat it, too. The party’s never over for her.

Not all is set for Valentines: Jeremy Marquez and Alessandra De Rossi

Ex-lovers Alessandra de Rossi and Jeremy Marquez caused a commotion in Pearl Farm, Davao during a celeb event. They ran the whole gamut of emotions, which only goes to show that they still haven’t fully recovered from their breakup.

At one point, Alex was seen “slapping” Jeremy. Was this some sort of cariño brutal? “May dinedemo ako sa kanya na sampalan incident. Binigyan lang ng kulay ng ibang tao. Di ko naman ugali manampal lalo na may camera pa du’n,” explained Alex. “Gusto ko talaga maging friends kami kaya lang maraming reasons bakit di pwede. Ang daming nangyari na hanggang ngayon di ko pa rin maintindihan.”

Any hope for reconciliation? “No way. Sobra akong na-hurt. Trauma na siya sa akin!” Looks like not even St. Valentine can give their hearts a second lease on love. And they lived happily never after!

This is about the hot buzz Gretchen Barretto has broken up with long-time live-in partner Tony Boy Cojuangco and has been shacking up with Dodie Puno. According to reports, Tony Boy barred her from taking any of the things he bought for her like the Pradas and Louis Vuittons. If she would like to see daughter Dominique, who opted to live with his father, it got to be outside his house as she’s no longer acceptable there.

Gretchen sent a text message to the equally controversial columnist, in which she stated that she’s staying beside Tonyboy and has put aside all the nasty talks caused by the controversy.

“I have not left Tony’s side since the so-called forbidden kiss photo. I have put all else aside since he needs recovery,” Gretchen confided to Dolly Anne.

In fairness to Gretchen, she wholeheartedly acknowledged her shortcomings as a partner, but never did she think of dismissing all the wonderful memories she shared with the popular business magnate.

“I can’t imagine a day without Tony in my life. I may have been naughty or a bit out of control but never did I think of altering my whole relationship with Tony. We have weathered countless storms in our 13 years together,” said Gretchen.

Gretchen, who admitted that she was grieving her mistake, expressed hope and optimism that things between her and Tonyboy would be much stronger because of the trials that tested their partnership.

“The journey was and is never easy when you want to [stay] together. Trying to stay together no matter what and waking up each morning knowing you still have each other is victory itself.”

Dito sa party na ito nakunan sina Gretchen and John na naghahalikan.

Nang kumalat ang litrato sa Internet, isang text message diumano ang ipinadala sa lahat ng nasa party not to talk to anyone about it and don’t talk, period.

Kaya nga hindi napilit na magsalita ang kahit sinong nasa party, kahit mismo ang birthday celebratrant na si Rufa Mae or sina Gretchen at John.

“The thing about the picture, they were just asked to pose for the camera, they weren’t doing anything there before or after,” buong statement ng aming nakausap na eyewitness.

Ayon pa sa eyewitness, “The first picture, si John mismo ang kumuha. The second, pinakuha niya sa isa sa mga non-showbiz guest [a guy na hindi rin namin papangalanan]. The guy told them to pose and so they kissed.”

Si John din daw ang may-ari ng cell phone, reportedly a Nokia N95 series. Kung paano lumabas ang picture, hindi raw alam ng aktor.

More information about the party, hindi raw magkasamang dumating ng party sina John and Gretchen. Marami raw bodyguards si Gretchen that night although nasa labas lang silang lahat. Magkahiwalay rin daw silang umuwi.
