How much does celebrities earn?

“Hindi totoo ‘yun,” “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame told “TV Patrol” about a showbiz glossy’s report that he earns P1 million daily with his endorsement income. Although this glossy stays as the country’s number one entertainment magazines for its compelling feature stories, this shows it can be blamed.

Piolo Pascual
, the glossy reports, earns P3 million per movie; Judy Ann Santos, P2 to 3 million; and KC Concepcion, P4 to P5 million. They are not expected to comment on said talent fees as they are usually confidential figures. But Willie and Vic’s statements show the list is faulty.

Ever heard of “Reverse Blind Item”?

http://www.damtp.cam.ac.uk/user/gr/public/holo/img3.gif

Here is a sample: (This is a real sample, not a made up sample)

Reverse blind item #1: The baptism

Jay Manalo is the actor in the blind item who had his second child by a non-showbiz girlfriend baptized recently. The clues given were this actor had several children by different women and none of them have come forward to the media to complain about neglect. Jay has different children by different women. BuzzBox has not been in touch with Jay for the longest time so it has lost count how many women she got pregnant and how many children he had fathered with them. From what BuzzBox gathered, the mother of his newly baptized baby is from his latest girlfriend.

Movie to watch: About moving on.

MANILA, Philippines—Cathy Garcia-Molina’s latest movie, “One More Chance,” starts off with a dynamic bang, showing lovers played by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz still squabbling after five years of being together. Clearly there’s something wrong with the “perfect” union of these two beautiful people.

That “something” boils down to his controlling ways, which have tightened like a noose around her pretty neck. What to do? She takes a deep breath—and breaks up with him.

At first, he doesn’t think she’s serious. How could she “throw away” five “beautiful” years, just like that? But, she sticks to her guns with gritted teeth—and he hurts like heck. For weeks. Months, even.

Much later, he and she finally learn to “move on.” Well, sort of. He still freaks out when he sees her with a new hunk (Derek Ramsay), although the relationship is strictly platonic.

Then, he gets himself a new girl (Maja Salvador)—and Bea finds herself suffering. What gives? We thought she wanted to extricate herself from his asphyxiating embrace, so why is she feeling pangs of jealousy? Could the original couple ever get back together again?

Well, naturally. That’s clearly the way this movie’s plot arc has been structured, so it’s only a matter of time before the regulation Happy Ending is worked out.

Sounds a bit forced? Well, that’s mainstream cinema for you—stereotypical viewer expectations have to be fulfilled, no matter how weakly worked out the solution may be.

Which is not to say that “One More Chance” is a bad film. In fact, its first half is focused, detailed and dynamic, not just telling the lead lovers’ story but also situating it within the clarifying context of their mutual friends and respective relatives. That isn’t an easy thing to do well, so the director should stand up and take a well-deserved bow.

Trouble is, she can’t sustain the brisk pace she’s set for herself, and the movie’s second half betrays the film’s basic weaknesses. These include some rather extraneous characters (played by Al Tantay and Nanette Inventor) who aren’t developed properly so they can impinge on the central characters, some escapist twists and turns in the story, and unthinking flubs like having architect Bea inspecting a building construction site in high heels.

Continuation…

Teri Hatcher insults Philippine Doctors in

The image “http://www.248am.com/images/teri_hatcher.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

For those defending her that, she has nothing to do with it because she is just an actress, wake up! She has the right to decline whatever she wants to if she feels that it wont do good or may harm others. She actually didnt care about what will happen because, like most of them, they dont really care about us Filipinos. they think so highly of themselves sometimes, they think they are God, everything they do is good, they are more superior than other, etc… We may not always speak straight english but who cares. As a Filipino-chinese, I can speak 4 languages! I bet she only can speak one and a few french or whatever lessons she took.

more discussion about that matter in, http://www.yehey.com/boards/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=125854

“A little more than a week ago, I read somewhere in this paper that someone in the Kapamilya network remarked that, “Ang kapamilya hindi napapalitan, pero ang puso pwedeng i-transplant,”—obviously referring to the well-publicized and quite controversial transfer of a former known kapuso to their side.

“Well, maybe I thought, they even got an ovation for that statement from their audience and followers. And maybe too, the person who thought of it found the idea cute and brilliant. Hmmm… but you know, throughout history, there have been lines spoken, and even by the greatest of men, which when carefully examined closely, are silly and untrue.

“Take for instance—’You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.’ And, ‘the best things in life are free.’ Not quite true, right? Yung first one pwede siguro if you’re a big star in television and you have a lot of what you call in the business—exchange deals.

“Or you’re a young goddess of a woman and you have a filthy rich provider who is like a faucet—hot and cold. But all these have a “kapalit,” kaya nga exchange deal, eh. In the first one, the big star will have to plug always. And in the second one, the sexy goddess will always be plugged.

“Transferring networks, or even working for some of these TV stations at the same time (“grossing the net”or “inter-networking”) is not new to me. Remember, I belong to the only daily show in Philippine TV history, or maybe the world, which have aired in three different major networks; surviving and outlasting five presidents… and still counting! Yes, we are the KONTOT (Kings Of Network Transfers On Television)! We are the Transfermers!

“That is why this issue about this angel from heaven, I mean seven, who transferred to you know where, is the least of anxieties. I really just find their statement so untrue and unfair, and I feel I need to react (and besides, wala akong article for this week).

‘Yung iba nga may pamilya dito, may pamilya duon eh.

But naturally, all these are ‘tuksuhan lang.’ Tayong lahat ay may mga pinagsamahan. Magkikita at maaring magkasama rin tayo balang araw. Kaya, walang pikunan. Paliwanagan lang. Biruan lang. Teasing is not bad. Cheating is… on TV!”
