Indeed, communication technology is greatly evolving. And online film content is truly expanding in scope. Perhaps, in no time, mobile internet would be as popular as how people use their laptops now to surf. Even the business and advertising aspects of utilizing the internet is developing. And knowing how effective the medium is becoming, it would also be good to look into opportunities on using the internet as a channel to promote not just art and the entertainment business but also public service and advocacy campaigns, and addressing social and moral issues.

By this time, it would be wise to further promote and enhance the path being paved way for online film content. It has started as how ITunes and IPTV now work. And with the convergence of various communication media, it is also high time to formulate the appropriate film and communication technology policies for the development of online film content.

Lolit Solis recalled in her Pilipino Star Ngayon column that on Oct. 12, 2007, between 3 and 4 p.m., she was going to attend an event at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza but she lost her way and found herself in the poolside coffee shop where she said she saw Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby, presumably having snacks, and apparently “whispering” (the PSN headline said, “Sam at Piolo huling-huling naglalampungan,” although the word “lampungan” was not in the text, but only the word “nagbubulungan”) to each other. When the waiter blurted out her name — “Si Lolit Solis!!!” — Lolit said that Piolo and Sam “scampered” away, leaving the chairs around their table in disarray.

Angel Locsin’s manager, Becky Aguila, confirmed that the actress will immediately sign a contract with ABS-CBN on her arrival in Manila from London on Friday, August 10.

“As soon as Angel comes back [we will sign the contract]. Wala pa kaming concrete, basta nandun lang ‘yung assurance namin sa kanila [ABS-CBN], verbally. They have our word na we’re going to sign. So as soon as Angel comes back pipirma na kami,” Aguila said in a presscon sponsored by ABS-CBN last Friday, August 3.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer also reported today, August 5, that Becky Aguila had confided to reporter Bayani San Diego Jr. Angel’s official transfer to the Kapamilya network by signing her contract on August 10. Becky called the Inquirer when the news first came out in public that Angel was indeed transferring.

“I had a heart to heart talk with Angel and her dad,” Becky revealed. “In time, I hope they would understand our decision,” she continued pertaining to GMA-7’s disappointment with their decision.

Angel’s father, on the other hand, Angel Colmenares, defended his daughter by saying that she fulfilled her job with GMA through hard work and that both parties mutually benefited during the partnership.

Mr. Colmenares also said that his daughter assured him that she was “all right” during their last phone conversation.

He also told Angel “not to mind the intrigues because what is important is the truth. Should other people feel aggrieved or slighted by your decision, you shouldn’t worry because your relationship with GMA-7 had been mutually beneficial . . . Suffice it to say, our decision was based on a sense of fairness.”

Sinabi ng naturang kamag-anak sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na matagal na talagang hindi tanggap ni Meldy si Gretchen para kay Tonyboy. Si Imelda “Meldy” Ongsiako Cojuangco ay biyuda ni Don Ramon Cojuangco, na siyang nagpalaki at nagpalakas sa Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), ang higanteng telecommunication firm.

Kinumpirma ng kamag-anak ng pamilya Cojuangco ang kuwento na noong magpunta si Tonyboy sa bahay ng ina noong kainitan ng “kisscandal” ay sinabihan daw ni Meldy ang anak ng ganito: “Leave Gretchen, pack your bags and come live with me.”

Ang tinutukoy ni Meldy ay ang bahay niya sa South Forbes. Si Tonyboy naman ay naninirahan sa katabing Dasmariñas Village kasama ni Gretchen at ng anak nilang si Dominique. Ang tirahan ng mag-ina ay two-minute drive lamang ang layo.

Ang sagot ni Tony sa ina, ayon sa kamag-anak, ay ito: “I’m not leaving Gretchen. No one’s leaving anyone. I’m not going to destroy my family.”

Matapos ang halos limang minuto lamang na pag-uusap ng mag-ina ay umalis na raw si Tonyboy at umuwi na sa Dasmariñas Village.

Sa mga sumunod na araw ay naoperahan si Tonyboy sa Maynila dahil sa kanyang throat ailment.  Pagkatapos nito ay umalis patungong Boston, Massachusetts si Tonyboy—kasama sina Gretchen at Dominique—upang sumailalim sa huling surgery kaugnay pa rin ng kanyang sakit sa lalamunan.

Mula noon, mga tatlong linggo na ang nakararaan, ay hindi pa ulit tumutuntong si Tonyboy sa bahay ng ina.

Sa panig naman ng isang malapit na kaibigan ni Gretchen, sinabi nitong “She has put her foot down and has vowed never to speak to Tony’s mother again.”

Dagdag pa ng kaibigan ni Gretchen, sa tingin daw ng aktres ay hindi talaga siya matatanggap ng pamilya Cojuangco kahit ano pa ang gawin niya para kay Tony at sa pamilya nito. Ang importante raw kay Gretchen, ayon sa kaibigan, “As long as Tony and she are together, that’s good enough for her.”
