Christine Reyes in a new teleserye after Eva Fonda

I know I am a girl but can’t help and hide the fact that I admire her beauty and figure.

Now considered as the “Primetime Fantasy Queen,” Cristine Reyes is strong, confident, and intense, as the stoic Eva Fonda. A very challenging role especially to a newcomer in showbiz, Christine is for sure a prized catch for ABS-CBN. “Eva Fonda,” for instance, became the highest-rating ABS-CBN show in Mega Manila during its pilot according to AGB Nielsen.

Joey VS Willie feud: End?

Network and host wars never ends… Even Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos is happy with Willie Revillame and Joey de Leon’s reconciliation. But it’s not necessarily correct Joey is the bigger winner than Willie. Here’s to put the record straight. Joey might have won the Supremo Award at the Supreme of the Extreme Award awards night of the “Philippine Star” held at the Embassy Bar at The Fort but Willie remains the bigger winner. Willie and “Wowowee” won the Best in Televisionary Awards in the same awards. The Supremo Award might be the highest award but the Best in Televisionary Award is as important for it is an innovation award, for changing the standard of television—noontime television in particular. Earlier in the day, Willie also received the Best Noontime Show Host award from the Consumers Union held at the Manila Hotel and “Wowowee” won the Best Noontime Show. So it was a back-to-back win for Willie and more importantly for “Wowowee.” Source and other stories…

Gretchen Barretto: A mistress’ life

Well, she really lived that kind of life. This movie should be close to reality since she would know everything from first hand experience. As they say, this will come from the Horse’s mouth.

This is too good (and controversial) to be missed.

Gretchen Barretto returns to Maalaala Mo Kaya after 15 years. She will open the longest-running drama anthology the country when it moves to the Saturday primetime on July 19. Based on a real story that happened in Cebu, Gretchen is Margarita, the beautiful but poor woman who decided to do something about her poverty. Philip Salvador is the old town mayor and Tonton Gutierrez is her poor husband. Philip says we’ll see a different Gretchen, somebody who takes her craft seriously. As this interview will, she did everything to deliver a realistic performance including a theme she knows too well.

Loren Legarda brokered the release

From Buzzbox

ABS-CBN’s policy not to pay ransom for journalist abduction worked! Ces Drlon, cameraman Jimmy Encarnacion and Professor Octavio Dimanpo were freed around midnight. When the P15 million ransom was not paid at noontime yesterday, the second time the ransom demand was not paid, the abductors seemed to have lost the will to continue holding the captives. This happened through the brokering effort of Sen. Loren Legarda. Five days ago, Ces, ABS-CBN News and Public Affairs Head Maria Ressa and ABS-CBN Vice Presiden for News Gathering Charrie Villa asked for Sen. Loren’s assistance. She did a similar act for brokering the release of Arlene De La Cruz who was kidnapped by an Abu Sayyaf’s rival group some years back. Full of mosquito bites, Ces broadly smiled upon her release. Sen. Loren said no ransom was paid. After the de-briefing in Zamboanga City this morning, Ces and Jimmy will fly to Manila immediately. (Photo courtesy of ABS-CBN)

IMO, Loren Legarda did not do it. She can’t possibly do it without God’s help. So, as other bloggers said too, I hope Loren Legarda stops taking credit. It’s just as bad as her whitening commercial.

New XXX girl in ABS-CBN

The image “https://now.abs-cbn.com/imgs-shows/logo-xxx.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.‘XXX’ has shown how far people will go just to earn a living, even if it comes at the cost of other people’s lives,” said Webb.

ABS-CBN Head of Current Affairs and News Production Luchi Cruz-Valdes said that “far from just filling a void, Pinky will give a new voice and infuse fresh vigor to the cause of XXX— to uncover crimes and do it with heart.”

Webb’s exclusive report on Daniel Smith soon after the guilty verdict was handed served as one of the winning elements of “Bandila”, the only Filipino newscast that made it to the final four nominees for Best Newscast in the prestigious International Emmy Awards.

Aside from her Daniel Smith exclusive, Webb also stood out as one of the few who bravely faced the dangers of covering the Manila Peninsula Siege, where she proved her dedication as a reporter— choosing to face the tear gas bombing despite her asthma!
